Meet Our Founders: Bretton Badenoch
When I was preparing for my MCAT, I didn’t know what I was doing and ended up wasting 6 months of my life studying sub-optimally. I purchased a set of books a year before my exam and read them while taking summary notes. After doing this, I realized I only retained maybe ~10% of what I read. After switching up my content review to including active learning and spaced repetition, my sore began to shoot up.
After getting a 90th percentile score on the MCAT, Kaplan contacted me and offered me a job as an MCAT teacher. Over the course of a year, I taught over 1,000 students online and teaching at the University of South Florida. During this time, I learned there was a world of MCAT strategy I hadn’t incorporated into my own exam! I then moved into private tutoring for Inspira Advantage, where I developed my own curriculum and MCAT-specific test-taking strategies. After I applied these strategies I’ve been teaching and perfecting, my score increased from the 90th percentile to the 99th.
I’m passionate about giving you the same information and study techniques that allowed me to go from not knowing about the MCAT to scoring in the 99th percentile. Meet Our Founders: Annie Schiro
I grew up in a small town in Northern Minnesota. I had many obstacles to receiving a quality education, one of which was my biology teacher telling me women shouldn’t work because they just want to have babies. I was determined to broaden my horizons. So, I leveraged a Minnesota program, Post Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO), that allows exceptional high school students to attend college early.
I began college at 15 at Bemidji State in Minnesota before getting a full-ride scholarship to NDSU. After researching for years at NDSU, I was accepted into 13 biochemistry graduate schools, such as Harvard, Yale, and Cornell.
As you can see, I’m passionate about increasing people’s access to quality education. This is why I’m so excited to have worked on developing the most affordable MCAT prep program.
